I love the idea of seasonal dollhouse scenes. I also love Eye Spy type pictures, so I got to work on a set of my own. Since I don’t have the space to keep them set up permanently, but nothing says I can’t set up a cute scene and do a photo shoot with it. To ring in the New Year and this new project, I started with a Dollhouse New Year’s Eve Party.
I created the walls with a screwed together shelf from Target, and then blue taped some scrapbooking paper to it. I didn’t cut them down so I could still use the papers later.
The carpet I bought from Miniatures.com. Most of the furniture and accessories I had picked up from friends and miniature shows.
I made the pillows myself, as well as the Happy New Year garland and the Cats Calendar.
Here you can see that I’m still trying a few things out. I hadn’t yet hung my mirrors over the bar cart.
When I printed these out onto cards made by Vistaprint, Etsy initinally questioned that I made them myself. I sent them a few of these behind the scenes shots to show that I was, in fact, the maker of them. Hi there! See, that’s me above my little dollhouse New Year’s Eve scene.
If you liked any of the tools or supplies I was using and think they might be helpful in your own miniatures adventure, I have Amazon Affiliate links to them for you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Should you choose to purchase any of these, at no additional cost to you, I may earn a commission. Know that I only recommend products, tools, services and learning resources I’ve personally used and believe are genuinely helpful, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to purchase them. Most of all, I would never advocate for buying something that you can’t afford, don’t feel comfortable with, or that you’re not yet ready to use.
