How to Place an Order

To qualify for wholesale pricing, the retailer must have a publicly accessible store website. Additionally, retailers must have a registered and current tax EIN number.

For initial orders, Smallhouse Models requires our Buyer Information sheet to be completed. It is the responsibility of the retailer to notify us of any changes to their information, such as address, phone number, email address, and billing information. This page must be included with your first order or sent prior to it.

To place an order, fill out the downloadable Order Sheet and either mail it to us or email it to us at [email protected]. Subsequent orders are easiest to handle via email. We DO NOT accept phone orders and we do not have a fax machine.

After receiving the Purchase Order, we will review it, confirm pricing, and send back a shipping estimate. If a price adjustment had occurred that you were not aware of when you place an order, we will notify you of the change before finalizing your order. You are free to adjust or cancel your order without penalty in this circumstance. After you agree, the Purchase Order becomes finalized and cannot be canceled without penalty.

Product Pricing

Smallhouse Models wholesales products for a variable percentage starting at 55% off retail. The actual percentage varies based on the size of the order, payment method, frequent customer status, and shipping deadline. ShM provide MSRP for all products and require our retailers prices to not undercut our prices, with the exception of temporary sales and events. We also expect our retailers’ prices to not exceed our MSRP by more than 25% for products valued at less than $25, 15% for products valued between $25 and $60, and 10% for products valued at higher than $60.

ShM reserves the right to adjust prices. We sell our products on Etsy for our MSRP and we have no desire to undercut our retailers. Our current MSRPs can always be found on our Etsy shop.

Product Packaging

We require that our products be sold in their original packaging. On the back of each package is a place for a barcode or a price tag. If requested, we can label each unit with its SKU number and retail price for a small fee.

If selling our items online, each item’s description must link to our website. We provide links on our website to all of our retailers’ websites to help our customers find them. By trading links with our retailers, all of our websites’ SEO (Search Engine Optimization) will perform better with Google Ranking.

Product Samples

We provide samples of items as requested and at our discretion. Samples of products that do not result in an order for must be returned or paid for (at MSRP).

We have a web folder of high-res and web-res photos of our products so photography samples are unnecessary, but retailers are welcome to take their own photos with samples they’ve requested.

Exclusivity

Keychains are limited edition and can only be sold in stores, not online.

Smallhouse Models grants exclusivity to its brick and mortar retailers for its standard product lines based on zip code. Exclusivity is not granted for online shops.

Retailers may commission ‘exclusive’ product variations. These variations will remain exclusive to that retailer for as long as they order the variation plus a length of one year. After a year of no reorders of that variation, it loses its exclusivity and may be offered to all other retailers.



Minimums

Order minimum of $100.

Garlands come in case packs of 6, calendars come in case packs of 4, and both and are sold in sets of 12. Keychains are sold in case packs of 9.

Payment Methods and Terms

We accept Paypal and checks (by prior arrangement). We offer lower wholesale prices for checks and upfront payments.

Initial orders require a 50% upfront deposit, with the remaining 50% due 30 days after shipping date. Subsequent orders may be paid for either upfront or on Net 30 terms.

No shipments will be made to overdue accounts. Accounts using Net 30 terms that pay late twice will be required to use prepayment methods for future orders. Returned checks are subject to a $20.00 fee, and the account will be required to use a prepayment method for future orders.

Shipping Method and Cost

We ship via USPS, and pay shipping and handling for orders over $250. S&H is $15 for orders less than $250. S&H includes insurance and tracking on all packages. Most packages arrive within four days of shipping.

Rush delivery is available at additional cost. Alternate shipping methods are available using the buyer’s shipping account.

We can provide drop shipping. Drop shipment orders follow a different pricing structure than wholesale orders.

Returns and Exchanges

Cancellation of purchase orders are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Refunds are applied to the customer’s account as store credit. Credit cannot be applied to an order that has already shipped but has not yet been paid for.

Some seasonal garlands are part of our seasonal stock program. These garlands can be exchanged for an upcoming season’s garlands if the original order did not entirely sell through. The multiple of 12 rule still applies. Email for more information about which garlands this pertains to.

Example: Ordered 36 Halloween garlands, sold 28, exchange remaining 8 for Christmas garlands, and purchase an additional 4 garlands to bring the next order up to the minimum 12.

Damaged Goods

If items arrive damaged, retailers have one week to file a claim. The damaged items (including the shipping box) need to be photographed. All damaged items need to be returned. Photos are to be emailed to us and we will look into the matter.

If fault lies with the postal service, any unusable items will be replaced, without charge. We photograph all orders as they are packed to ensure quality. Please be careful when using box cutters to open our packages.
